Walking into the St. Vincent Cancer Center at 8301 Harcourt Rd, Indianapolis, IN is a serene and thoughtful place to be treated and heal
The Radiation Oncology department is on the first floor and is joined by the Diagnostic Imaging department. This is the largest group of its kind in Indiana.
Tucked next to the lobby and the calming sound of a waterfall is a Chapel and private consultation rooms.
The St. Vincent Cancer Center also houses Hematology/Medical Oncology offices, an Infusion/Chemotherapy area, the Oncology Registered Dietitian office, the Genetic Cancer Risk Assessment Offices, and an education facility and cafe.
Finding answers to your cancer questions
Medical terminology can be confusing. Patient navigators are patient educators and are very good at getting answers to your questions. Often, the navigators accompany a patient to chemo and radiation treatments and are there before and after surgery. Your entire St. Vincent Cancer Care team knows how mentally straining and exhausting cancer treatments can be, that is why we all work together to anticipate your needs. In Radiation Oncology and in Chemotherapy, we often see a patient for a series of treatments. The St. Vincent "Caring Spirit" guides us so that besides treating a specific part of the body, we are also helping to heal the body, mind and spirit. That's what makes a stronger cancer survivor.
Many resources exist at the Cancer Center, from the front information desk -- to the online St. Vincent Health Information Library -- to the Cancer Care computer center in the lobby of the St. Vincent Cancer Care Center. These services are publicly accessible for all types of cancer questions. The front desk Cancer Care associate can also contact a patient navigator for you. Just call us at 317-338-3900.
Coordinating care closer to home
St. Vincent Health ministries throughout Indiana (Anderson, Kokomo...) coordinate care with the Indianapolis Cancer Center – giving our patients access to the latest cancer care treatments and support services. Many of our cancer procedures and treatments are very sophisticated and require specially trained staff and dedicated facilities from which to operate and deliver treatments. Whenever possible, we will identify services closest to home.
