Long-term acute care hospitals specialize in the treatment
of patients with serious medical conditions that require care on an ongoing
basis but no longer require intensive care or extensive diagnostic procedures.
These patients are typically discharged from the intensive care units and
require more care than they can receive in a rehabilitation center, skilled
nursing facility, or at home.
St.Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital provides long-term
hospital care targeting the most medically complex patients. Patients are
typically referred to Seton from traditional hospitals to complete the acute
phase of their recovery. Often, patients stay for 25 days or more.
Seton takes patient and family satisfaction very seriously.
Patients at Seton receive high quality care provided by approximately 75% RNs
and 25% LPNs as well as teams of highly competent respiratory and rehab
therapists and many others. Both Seton locations, Indianapolis and Lafayette,
have wound care teams that are managed by a certified wound ostomy continence
At least one field is required.
