Our New Surgeons
St.Vincent Fishers Hospital is proud to welcome Dr. Christine Gupta and Dr. Larry Micon to its surgical team. Christine Gupta, MD, FACS, graduated from the University of California in 1986 and earned her medical degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Illinois in 1990. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Illinois, Metropolitan Group Hospitals, and a fellowship in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery at St.Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She has practiced surgery at St.Vincent Carmel Hospital previously and for the past three years has been a surgeon at Witham Memorial Hospital. Her surgical interests are laparoscopy, endoscopy (upper endoscopy and colonoscopy) and breast surgery. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, SAGES and the Indiana State Medical Association. Dr. Gupta is married and has four children. She and her family, who live in Carmel, enjoy traveling and many different sports.
As a native of Munster, Indiana, Dr. Larry Micon has deep roots in the Hoosier state. He received his bachelor’s degree in biologic sciences from Indiana University in Bloomington, and completed his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1982. His residency in general surgery was completed at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, and he became a board certified surgeon in 1988. Dr. Micon served as director of surgical education at Methodist Hospital and assistant director of Indiana University Surgical Residency between 1990 and 2012. He also served as the co-chairman of surgery at Methodist Hospital for more than 12 years. His clinical expertise lies in the areas of gastrointestinal, hernia and emergency general surgery.
