  • 2013 - The Women’s Center at St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). When awarding facilities the honor of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
  • 2012 - St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital is recognized as a National Top Workplace
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital was a recipient of 5-Star ratings for total hip replacement and back and neck surgery; treatment of heart attack for five years in row (2008-2012); and overall pulmonary services. Also, St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital is ranked among the top 10 percent in the nation for overall GI services and critical care by HealthGrades.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital's Chest Pain Center is the only cardiovascular program in Madison County to be accredited by the Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers.

The hospital is also ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for joint replacement surgery.
  • 2010 – Indianapolis Star Top Workplaces
  • 2009 – St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital earned the HealthGrades 2009/2010 Outstanding Patient Experience Award for scoring among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation. The patient satisfaction survey was measured by Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), which assesses physician and nurse communication; cleanliness, noise levels, medication information, and post-discharge instructions. St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award for patients giving the hospital a 9 or 10 on a 10-point scale for overall patient satisfaction.

  • 2012 - St.Vincent Carmel Hospital recognized as an Emergency Center of Excellence
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Carmel Hospital was the recipient of the 2011 Outstanding Patient Experience Award by HealthGrades, the nation's most trusted source for researching and selecting physicians and hospitals. This distinction ranked St.Vincent Carmel Hospital among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide based on an analysis of patient satisfaction data for approximately 3,800 hospitals.
  • 2010 – St.Vincent Carmel Hospital Emergency Department is the recipient of the Emergency Center of Excellence designation by EmEx.
  • 2009 – For the fourth consecutive year, St.Vincent Carmel Hospital is the recipient of the HealthGrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award, ranked among the top 10 percent in the nation, and earned a five-star rating for joint replacement.

The HealthStrong Awards are based on The Hospital Strength Index™, a national ratings program developed by iVantage Health Analytics to recognize top performing hospitals based on key metrics critical to success in health care.

   

• St.Vincent Dunn Hospital

  • 2012 - St.Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford has been ranked high in patient satisfaction by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Dunn Hospital is the recent recipient of Professional Research Consultants (PRC) excellence awards, highlighting the exceptional care of two inpatient service programs.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Dunn received five-star consumer excellence ratings for their obstetric and gynecology (OB/GYN) services. The high ratings secured the faith-based ministry a national ranking in the top 10 percent for excellent responses. St.Vincent Dunn Hospital also received five-star consumer excellence ratings for their inpatient services, including ICU, medical surgical and OB/GYN. These ratings were awarded based on data from a 2010 patient experience data questionnaire conducted over the phone by PRC associates.

  • 2009 – St.Vincent Health and American Structurepoint received a Merit Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies in recognition of their work on St.Vincent Medical Center Northeast.     • The St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana received the state's top honor for cardiology services for the seventh consecutive year by HealthGrades, the nation's most trusted, independent source of physician information and hospital quality ratings. (2006-2012)
    • St.Vincent Heart Center was ranked No. 1 in Indiana for coronary interventional procedures, and among the top 5 percent in the nation for overall cardiac services for seven years in a row. Also, the freestanding heart hospital earned a 5-star rating for the treatment of heart failure from HealthGrades. (2006-2012)

    • 2011 - Thomson Reuters 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital. St.Vincent Heart Center on 86th Street is the sole cardiovascular program in Indiana to receive the Thomson Reuters 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals honor.

This is part of a quality program that aims to help hospital teams save more lives during cardiopulmonary emergencies by consistently following the most up-to-date, scientific guidelines for treating patients who suffer a cardiac arrest in the hospital.

Our ministry is the only Indiana hospital on the list, which includes some of the country’s top health are providers, including Kaiser Permanente, Vanderbilt University Hospital and the Mayo Clinic. The Top Hospital designation is the most competitive national hospital quality award in the country, selected from nearly 1,200 hospitals that voluntarily and publicly report their performance by participating in the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The survey focuses on three critical areas of hospital care: how patients fare; resources used to care for patients; and management practices that promote safety and quality.

  • 2012 - St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital earned Thomson Reuters' 2012 100 Top Hospitals award. The 131-year-old ministry is the only health provider in Indiana recognized in the Teaching Hospital category. This is the sixth time and fourth consecutive year that St.Vincent received the 100 Top Hospitals recognition by Thomson Reuters.
  • 2012 - St.Vincent Indianapolis Home Health has been named a 2011 HomeCare Elite agency for the fifth consecutive year. This market-leading review compiled by OCS HomeCare and DecisionHealth names the top 25 percent of agencies based on quality of care, quality improvement and financial performance. The 2011 HomeCare Elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing patients with the best possible care while managing their business efficiently and effectively.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital earned the Thomson Reuters 2011 100 Top Hospitals award. Also, the 130-year-old health provider was named among America's 50 Best Hospitals by Becker's Hospital Review.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital earned the Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence™ recognition by HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings organization. This honor marks the third consecutive year (2009-2011) that the faith-based hospital has been among the top five percent of hospitals nationwide for clinical performance.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital was selected by consumers as the No. 1 most preferred hospital in the 2011 National Research Corporation Consumer Choice Award survey. This was the 16th consecutive year that the faith-based hospital has been honored by consumers. In Indiana, St.Vincent is the only hospital to have won the award for all 16 years. Throughout the Midwest states, only seven hospitals have won the Consumer Choice Award for 16 consecutive years.
  • 2011 - St.Vincent was a recipient of the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Overall Cardiac Care Specialty Excellence Award, and earned HealthGrades Gastrointestinal Care Excellence Award for four years in a row (2009-2012). The faith-based hospital received America's 100 Best Specialty Excellence Awards in coronary intervention, critical care, spine surgery and stroke care. The hospital was #1 in Indiana for spine surgery, and also ranked within the top five percent in the nation for cardiology services, women's health and emergency medicine. In addition, St.Vincent was a recipient of 5-Star ratings for cardiology services for three years in a row (2010-2012), and overall pulmonary services for six years in a row (2007-2012).
  • 2009 – The hospital was selected by the National Research Corporation as a 2008-09 Consumer Choice Award winner. The award identifies hospitals that healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in 180 markets throughout the U.S. This is the 14th consecutive year that St.Vincent has received the recognition.
  • 2009 – For the fourth consecutive year, St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital is the recipient of a Consumers' Choice Award for being the Best Place to Work. St.Vincent Indianapolis also received a Consumers' Choice Award for Best Hospital.
  • 2009 – Recipient of the Best Practice Partners Award for Patient Safety from Courtemanche & Associates, a consulting firm that works with leaders at hospitals and healthcare organizations to achieve regulatory compliance and accreditation success while minimizing patient risks and improving organizational effectiveness. St.Vincent was recognized for Executive Safety Physician Program, which provides 24/7 coverage by a member of the medical staff to address patient care and safety concerns.This initiative allows staff to "stop the line" and turn to the Executive Safety Physician for real-time help in addressing patient safety issues.
  • 2009 – St.Vincent is a recipient of the inaugural Everest Award for National Benchmarks. The award was given to 23 of the Top 100 Hospitals, recognizing hospitals that have achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, financial performance and operational efficiency at the fastest rates.
  • 2009 – The hospital earned the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission for Advanced Primary Stroke Centers. St.Vincent earned this distinction for the third time after the Joint Commission conducted an on-site review in May 2009. St.Vincent demonstrated that its stroke care program follows national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients.
  • 2009 – The St.Vincent Orthopedic Center and St.Vincent Spine Center earned the Joint Commission's Disease-Specific Care Certification for joint replacement and spine surgery, respectively. St.Vincent Orthopedic Center is the only facility in Indiana to be recognized for its hip and knee replacement program. This marks the third time that the comprehensive Orthopedic Center earned the Joint Commission two-year certification. • da Vinci Robotic Surgical System Honors

  • 2012 - A surgeon at St.Vincent Women's Hospital was the first in Indiana, and among a select group of physicians in the United States, specializing in Robotic-assisted transabdominal cervical cerclage (RoboTac) surgeries, a treatment of cervical insufficiency (CI).
  • 2011 - Gynecologic oncologists at St.Vincent Cancer Care were the first in Indiana, and among a select group of physicians in the United States trained to perform hysterectomies together using the da Vinci® robotic surgical system.
  • 2010 - Physicians at the Center for Ear, Nose Throat and Allergy (CENTA) at St.Vincent Hospital were the first in Indiana, and among a select group of physicians in the United States trained to remove throat cancers using the da Vinci® robotic surgical system.
  • 2010 - Physicians at the Center for Ear, Nose Throat and Allergy (CENTA) at St.Vincent Hospital were the first in Indiana, and among a select group of physicians in the United States to be trained to remove part of the thyroid using the da Vinci® robot surgical system.

   

• Surgery Accomplishments

  • 2012 - Doctors at St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana were the first in Indiana to offer the new FDA approved, Edwards SAPIEN Transcatheter Aortic Heart Valve for patients who suffer from severe aortic stenosis and are not candidates for open heart surgery.

   

• Technology Achievements

  • 2011 - St.Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital was the first in Indianapolis and second in the state to use a new technology to locate the placement of a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). The FDA approved device, Sapiens TCS by Bard Access Systems, provides real-time PICC catheter tip location information without using an X-ray, thus eliminating radiation and reducing patient costs.
