Occupational Therapy 

Occupational therapy focuses on assisting patients of all ages to improve their level of independence in self-care, work and play or leisure activities. From our smallest patients in the newborn intensive care, to the elderly, occupational therapy facilitates:

  • Safe functional mobility skills in the home
  • The ability to do daily tasks such as eating, bathing, dressing or balancing a checkbook

  • Therapeutic activities to address strength, range of motion, and coordination of the upper extremity
  • Splint fabrication (static and dynamic)
  • Energy conservation techniques instruction
  • Adaptive equipment recommendations (proper use of tub benches, safety frames, grab bars)
  • Activities of daily living (ADL) instruction (most effective ways to bath, dress, cook, etc.)
  • Recommendations for appropriate levels of independent living/care
  • Ergonomic assessment and recommendations, including functional capacity evaluations
  • Graston Technique™, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization
