Amputee Support Group

The Lifeline for Limb Loss

St.Joseph Physical and Sports Therapy developed this program with the Amputee Coalition of America for amputee survivors and their families. The group is facilitated by Teva Turner, who is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and guest speakers.

When: First Thursday of every month from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Goals

Group goals include:

  •  Fostering a better understanding of amputee recovery and rehabilitation
  •  Providing resources to assist in rehabilitation, as well as prevention of additional limb loss
  •  Creating a safe outlet for amputee survivors to meet others with similar challenges and experiences
  •  Offering a structured approach for caregivers and family members to share and support each other
