Volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital
Volunteering at St.Joseph Hospital can be a very fulfilling way to serve the community. As a volunteer, you’ll play an integral role in supporting our holistic approach to healing the body, mind and spirit of our patients. Volunteering can provide a sense of accomplishment and an opportunity to learn new things. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available to match different interests and talents.
Today St.Joseph has about 160 volunteers, who bring a multitude of talents and contribute approximately 26,000 hours of service each year.
Volunteers deliver mail and flowers, run errands, provide assistance to patients and their families, and perform duties in nearly every hospital department. These men and women give the most important gift they can give to St.Joseph Hospital, patients, and visitors: their time and service.
To volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital, you must be at least 15 years old. Volunteers receive a free meal in the hospital café during their shift, free parking, a free “Birthday Breakfast with the President” during their birthday month, and a flexible schedule with a choice of positions and hours. Perhaps best of all, you’ll serve with other people who share the same desire to help their community. Your reward is the good feeling you get when helping others and being appreciated for your efforts.
