Our neurological therapy services include using the latest technology.
NESS L300 Technology
The NESS L300 is a neuro-rehabilitation device which offers a better
treatment option for patients with central nervous system damage and a
condition called foot drop. Treatment using the L300 device can benefit
patients who have suffered stroke, brain tumors, head trauma, multiple
sclerosis or cerebral palsy.
The L300 is a wireless device with
an electrical stimulation unit that sends electronic impulses up and
down the patient’s leg as he or she walks. Other components include:
- A piece that clips into the patient’s shoe and senses how much weight the patient is bearing
- A piece that wraps around the patient’s leg just below the knee
- A remote control that can be used by a therapist to help correct the patient’s gait during walking
The SaeboFlex is a custom made splint or orthosis that is mechanical
instead of electrically based. The SaeboFlex allows individuals
suffering from neurological impairments, such as stroke, the ability to
incorporate their hand functionally in therapy and at home by supporting
the weakened wrist, hand, and fingers.
The device is
particularly useful to patients with arm or hand dysfunctional due to
spasticity as a result of strokes. Often these patients have some
ability to grasp, but they cannot open their fingers or extend the wrist
or finger. This splint assists with the extension, the grasp release
and the finger/thumb pinching motions.
