Preparing for surgery can be an anxious time for many people. St. Vincent Carmel is doing everything possible to make your visit as comfortable as it can be. Beginning with valet parking when you arrive (Entrance 5) and ending with a discharge that includes clear instructions for your continued recovery, our surgical team wants your experience with us to put you on the road to healing and better health.

St.Vincent Carmel performs a wide range of surgeries. Some of the most common surgeries we perform include:

If you have surgery scheduled at the St.Vincent Carmel campus, your surgeon will instruct you to go to Surgery, Entrance 5.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. (no weekends or holidays)
Patients are required to arrive at least two hours prior to their scheduled surgery time.

If you are scheduled for surgery, and are presently taking any herbal supplements, please inform your primary care physician and surgeon. Surgery patients should generally stop taking herbal supplements for two weeks prior to surgery.

The following list of popular herbal supplements could cause complications during surgery.

Outpatient Surgery

Our Outpatient Surgery department includes:

  • 20 pre- and post-op rooms, each pleasantly decorated and including a television
  • A 13-bed PACU (recovery area) equipped with the most up-to-date technology
  • 10 dedicated operating rooms
  • A comfortable and spacious family waiting room with a children's play area

Hours: Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. (no weekends or holidays)
Patients are required to arrive at least two hours prior to their scheduled surgery time.

Advanced Technology

We are constantly updating technology to provide more effective procedures with reduced recovery times. Some of the newer procedures we offer are:

  • TVT procedure: Ttreatment for stress incontinence
  • Uterine Balloon Therapy (Thermachoice): Treatment for excessive menstrual bleeding
  • Sentinel Node Biopsy: Treatment for tumors
