The Day Before Your Visit

The night before your surgery, you will need to stop eating after midnight. After 12 AM, you may not have:

  • Food
  • Drinks of any kind, including clear fluid and water
  • Alcohol within 24 hours of your surgery
  • Lozenges
  • Antacids
  • Gum
  • Tobacco in any form
  • No breastmilk for infants or toddlers

At this time, continue to take any maintenance medications UNLESS OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED.

You will need to take a shower with antibacterial soap in the evening and again in the morning to help prevent infection.
