The Day Before Your Visit
The night before your surgery, you will need to stop eating after midnight. After 12 AM, you may not have:
- Food
- Drinks of any kind, including clear fluid and water
- Alcohol within 24 hours of your surgery
- Lozenges
- Antacids
- Gum
- Tobacco in any form
- No breastmilk for infants or toddlers
At this time, continue to take any maintenance medications UNLESS OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED.
You will need to take a shower with antibacterial soap in the evening and again in the morning to help prevent infection.
