Incorporated in 1971, the Foundation was created by caring citizens to promote the improvement of the facilities and services of the Hospital, to promote education and scientific research, and to aid in the care of the sick and aged.

Today all hospitals face a similar challenge in meeting the needs of their patients while dealing with the costs of rapid technological advances and cutbacks in funding. The Foundation helps bridge that gap.
