"How We Show"
Outcomes management has become a vital component to the success of any healthcare organization. As consumers of health care, the public expects to receive the highest quality, technologically advanced health care available in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. St.Vincent nurses provide competent, individualized, evidence based care in an environment influenced by Core Values and guided by the true mission of the hospital.
Using an interdisciplinary approach to develop individualized plans of care for each patient not only impacts their length of stay but the achievement of optimal health care goals as well. Supporting the concept of continuity of care, St.Vincent provides information of available resources in the hospital, through outpatient services and in the community. These resources may be vital for the success of the patient’s recovery or overall health status.
Through the Ascension Health Call to Action, St.Vincent espouses health care that leaves no one behind. Nurses are integral to the successful delivery of health care in our community. Continually focusing on quality improvement initiatives to provide the highest quality of care, requires monitoring benchmarks for nurse sensitive outcomes. Patient safety is a priority. Through shared governance, nurses have a voice in making recommendations for effectively and efficiently using the available capital to best serve the patient and their family.
Nursing at a Higher Level encourages professional growth and contributes to the provision of high quality care. When patients are asked about their experience at St.Vincent Hospital, our hope is that, with confidence and conviction, they can say that they experienced nursing at a higher level.
