Christmas Assistance

In Jennings County, where the local economy has been rocked by layoffs and job losses related to the economic downturn, St. Vincent Jennings Hospital associates initiated a Christmas project.

The Power of Giving

The power of the Christmas project resulted in:

  • Hospital associates providing food and/or Christmas presents for a total of 26 families consisting of 103 adults and 66 children
  • Students in the Jennings County High School International Thespian Society donating 624 pounds of food to the effort
  • A local church bringing in 15 hams, 15 turkeys, 30 bags of potatoes, 30 loaves of bread, 30 dozen eggs, 30 cake/brownie mixes, 30 pounds of butter, 15 bags of oranges and 15 bags of apples

These donations allowed all the families on the list to receive food packages at Christmas.
