Melissa AndresMelissa Andres, BSN, RN, OCN

Melissa (Missy) joined St.Vincent in 2010 and is currently the manager of the oncology patient navigation team. Missy received her bachelor of science in nursing and RN license from Indiana University in 1995 and has worked in oncology for 19 years. She is an active member of several local and national organizations and has held various board positions to help elevate the oncology nurse and patient navigation professions. In 2003, she received her certification in oncology (OCN). Missy has always had a desire to help others, and loves being a nurse. “I feel very blessed to be part of such a great team and organization. We are all very passionate about caring for those with cancer and are honored to be part of such a personal aspect of their lives.”

Missy lives in Carmel with her husband and four kids. In her spare time, she loves camping, traveling, and being involved with her church.


Bob VaharyBob Vahary, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C

Bob has worked for St Vincent Cancer Care since 2003, and is currently a patient navigator for lung, genitourinary, neurological, and hematologic cancers. He has a master’s degree in social work and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for more than 20 years. Bob’s background includes counseling, pain management, stress reduction, and formative spirituality. He has worked extensively with case management, rehabilitation and various cancer diagnoses.

Bob has worked for St Vincent Cancer Care since 2003, and is currently a patient navigator for lung, genitourinary, neurological, and hematologic cancers. Wendy Doran, RN Wendy Doran, RN

Wendy has been with St. Vincent since 2011 and joined the St. Vincent Oncology Patient Navigation Team in 2014. She is currently a nurse navigator for breast cancer patients.

Wendy has a nursing background that includes working in both Critical Care and Surgery. Prior to joining the Oncology Navigation Team in 2014, Wendy worked at St. Vincent Carmel in Surgery. She cared for a variety of patients including taking care of breast surgical patients both preoperatively and postoperatively. Caring for these patients led her to her current role. “I feel so honored to be part of my patients’ journey throughout their treatment.”

Wendy resides in Westfield, Indiana with her husband and son. She enjoys being outdoors and spending quality time with her family and friends.


Carolyn Harshbarger, BSN, RN, OCN Carolyn Harshbarger, BSN, RN, OCN

Carolyn joined St. Vincent in 2011. She received her BSN from IUPUI in 1986. She received her OCN in 2011 and has had a previous certification in Hospice and Palliative Care. She has work in oncology for 29 years and is currently the nurse navigator for head and neck cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, sarcoma and skin cancers. Carolyn has always wanted to be a nurse and loves patient contact and teaching. She feels each person leaves a special impression with her. She believes the patient and family need to understand their illness and its treatment to make the best decisions for them.

Carolyn lives in Rossville with her husband on the family farm. In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching old television shows and playing with her grandson.


Lindsay Persohn, BSN, R.N., OCN Lindsay Persohn, BSN, R.N., OCN

Lindsay joined St. Vincent in 2015 and is currently a nurse navigator for breast cancer patients. Prior to joining the St. Vincent Oncology Patient Navigation Team, Lindsay worked as an inpatient Medical/Renal/Oncology/ Hospice Registered Nurse. "My passion has always been working with oncology patients. It's a privilege to be a part of patients' lives during what is most often, the most difficult time of their life."

Lindsay received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from IUPUI in 2008. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational, Leadership and Supervision (OLS) from Purdue University earned in 2005. In 2015, she earned her Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).

Lindsay lives in Noblesville with her husband and their dog Chloe. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family and friends, watching movies and going to concerts.


Molly Parker, RN, CMSRN  Molly Parker, RN, CMSRN

Molly joined St.Vincent in 2012 and is currently a nurse navigator caring for gynecologic oncology patients. Molly received her bachelor of science in community health promotion from Indiana State University in 1997 and her associate of science in nursing from Ivy Tech Community College in 2004. Molly has worked with oncology patients since the beginning of her nursing career and this is where her true passion lies. “I am very fortunate to work with such an amazing team and truly inspiring patients. The fact a patient welcomes me into their life during such a challenging time makes me feel truly blessed.”

Molly lives in Lebanon IN with her two children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children and playing tennis.


Laury Wallace, BSN, RN, CHPN, CEN, CGNLaury Wallace, BSN, RN, CHPN, CEN, CGN

Laury joined St. Vincent in September of 2015. She was previously a breast and GYN-oncology navigator, but recently entered a newly created position as a triage nurse navigator. Laury received her BSN from Indiana Wesleyan University, a Bachelor in Psychology from Marian University, and is currently enrolled at Maryville University, St. Louis in the Adult-Geriatric Primary care Nurse Practitioner program, graduating mid-2017. Laury is a member of CIONN, ISNA, and NHPCO. She has been a nurse for 27 years and has extensive background experience in long-term care management and ownership, emergency nursing, and hospice and palliative care.

Laury has always felt that it was her mission in life to bring joy and comfort to others, and it is her passion to serve those entrusted to her care. “It is an honor to be a part of the cancer patient’s journey. “We gain so much more from their strength and courage than we can ever return. It is such a blessing to be in a role that supports the patient holistically, assists them overcome barriers to treatment, and provides education and counseling to help ease the anxieties and intimidation of a cancer diagnosis and its treatments.”

Laury’s goal is to continue to serve cancer patients as a nurse practitioner. She currently lives in Westfield, Indiana with her husband Robert and son Nathan; but they have a total of six children and eight grandchildren. Laury is an avid runner, cycler, and fitness boxer. She enjoys baseball, traveling, spending time with her very large family, and church.


Michelle Harner, BSN, RN

Michelle joined the St. Vincent patient navigation team in early 2016. Michelle is a Survivorship Nurse Navigator and the Multi-disciplinary Cancer Conference Coordinator. Michelle earned her associate of science in nursing in 1996, and her bachelor of science in nursing in 2008. Michelle also obtained her certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) in 2002. Michelle’s passion has always been in oncology nursing.

“I believe in empowering patients with knowledge, while embracing their hope for the future. I advocate for innovative and collaborative nursing care for all patients. Oncology nursing is extremely rewarding. It is a privilege and a pleasure to be part of a patient's care providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support through and beyond their cancer journey.”

Michelle lives in Lafayette with her husband. Michelle’s hobbies include reading, boating, hiking and volunteering. She especially loves spending quality time with her husband and three children.


Arthur (AJ) Spoerner, MSW, LCSWArthur (AJ) Spoerner, MSW, LCSW

AJ has worked for St.Vincent for the past 10 years, and is currently the Inpatient Cancer Navigator. This role provides continuity of navigation services as patients are cared for both inpatient and outpatient. AJ is a graduate of Indiana University School of Social Work, and completed training with Herbert Benson in Mind Body Medicine at Harvard University. AJ also has training and certification in Heartmath Interventions.

AJ enjoys all outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
